Challenge 102:monograms, week 2

The leader of our team, Vicki, is unwell at the moment, having recently had an operation - we send our love and hope and pray that she makes a good recovery. In the meantime, she asked me to do this blogpost.

Here is a little bit more inspiration for our Challenge 102: monograms. You can find the first week's designs here and please click that link to join in the challenge. We love to see your entries.

Once again, this challenge is kindly being sponsored by Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet - we are so grateful to them.

For the second week of Monograms, I created a card using the letter D from Floppy Latte and you can find it on the Stitchy Bear outlet. I colored my monogram with watercolor pencils and cut it out by hand. I mounted my monogram on a card stock and then on a scrapbook paper.

I adorned my card with some crystals and two Matrioshkas (Russian dolls) because my niece loves them and this card is for her. Have a magical week and keep playing with us!

Here we are at the half way point in the Challenge Monograms. The sponsor Stitchy Bear Outlet/Floppy Latte was generous and gave us some great monograms to play around with  Last week I altered a notebook for hubby this week I made a gift card holder and used the D monogram for the beginning letter of Dad. I dove into my scraps box and found everything I needed to make it. I have the measurements to make the gift card holder on my blog, I honestly don't know where I saw this tutorial to make the holder but it was very simple and looks fab. The belly band slides off (and back on) to open and see the gift card.

For this card I used an "R" for my mother Regina.  I printed it on colored paper and further colored it with colored pencils.  i added it to some cardstock covered with Primavera paper by itKuPiLLi then added a lace border, some pearls and a bird image from Lunagirl.  I am enjoying the the challenge to work with letters and hope you will join the fun.

For the front of this notebook I used the Floppy Latte Floral Cap J monogram kindly provided by the challenge sponsor, Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet. I coloured the image digitally using Microsoft Paint, mounted on to a snippet of blue card and then on to the black notebook.

We look forward to seeing your entries here.
